Chinese people made our warmers at a fair price, as a result, we were able to make, in America, Scentsy Fragrance products using North American wax sometimes Canadian, sometimes US and American made fragrance.

Nor does it speak to the billions of dollars American companies profit because of trade with China that is passed on to American shareholders of their stock or owners of mutual funds, K, or pension plans.

No Chinese trade, no profits, no jobs, no mortgages, no economy. China is gaining manufacturing market share because they have methodically created a supply chain of necessary components that is unmatched in the world. Imagine we could find a ceramic factory in the US that could produce 1,, units per month with the expertise in stoneware, dolomite and porcelain—all three materials requiring specialized skill and equipment to manufacture. Where would the clay come from? US mines?

Assume that is possible. What about the lamp accessory, cord and switches? Even if there were factories in America making each component, would they all be in one city, providing just-in-time delivery of needed components so assembly lines keep running?

Sure it would be great if we could make it here, but even if labor costs were the same, America traded the infrastructure to do large scale consumer products like iPhones, tennis shoes and Scentsy warmers for the air-conditioned offices of the insurance broker, banker, accountant, software engineer and graphic designer most of which are occupied with people who worked their tails off in college not to have to work on a factory line. Small product factories consolidated into giant places making satellites, jumbo-jets, and John Deere tractors.
