Why bridge to terabithia shouldnt be banned
Kid, 10 years old May 19, When I first was reading it, I thought it was a bit boring , but soon it got better. At the end, I was very, very sad, but I'm not a good crier, so I didn't cry. I think the movie is more sad then the book though. Violence - Not lots of violence or action, and this is a pretty slow book, but a main character dies.
Another character hits his sister. Sexy Stuff - None, but a main character has a crush on his teacher. They have no sexual activity. Consumerism - None Drugs - None. Kid, 10 years old May 14, One of the most wonderful books I have ever read!
This book is up there with the best! It taught me a lot of things and had me clinging to the book for the next two days! I simply loved it. It has a few curse words, but it's overall appropriate. Good big words like "complacent" and "wheedling".

The movie talks about Santa so if they are kids who believe in Santa, they shouldn't watch it , religion, and cremation. At first it's hard to believe why you would do it. But eventually you understand. The ending is one of the saddest ending ever created.

I love this book, it is an amazing story and the challenges made against this wonderful book are absurd and insane! How is it possible that this book could be banned!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the most beautifully written angst story EVER!!!!!!!!!! I remember our third grade teacher reading is this book in the mid 80s. Check your state statistics: how many children under age 12 died in accidents last year, vs. On the other hand, how many children in your state need to have positive, constructive, uplifting role models for living?
But the kinds of values lessons that children and youth really need to learn are those that they can get from classic books — not for politicized, contemporary trash like this book. There are 1, books written throughout the centuries more constructive for kids to read than this one. Parents like me are being forced to pay confiscatory taxes for overpriced, underperforming public schools, and then check good books out at the library and have their children read them at home, since the school-assigned literature is generally so junky.
The more we spend on public school, the worse the curriculum and results are getting. So our future is going to be with intellectually degraded citizens who are functionally illiterate and have nihilistic core values. March 10, at pm. I thought this book and the ideas and characters were handled poignantly and true. For the rest of us mortals, death is an inevitability and something that we, as parents, have a duty to prepare our children for.
Every child should be prepared for that. Also, which classics are you referring to? I can think of a number of literary classics that, if you find Bridge to Terabithia offensive, would probably send you into hysterics. I take care of that at home.
