What is the significance of oral communication

When I was a freshman, I had to take notes on everything to understand the content. Currently, I find that if I type out my notes and add photos to them in OneNote, I retain so much more of the content. I am more of a visual person anyway so seeing digitally without having a large amount of prints helps me stay more organized as.

Now, I realize that a student needing special education does not automatically mean that they will need help with everything and have an extremely difficult time learning. Most of the students I observed did not seem any different than the students not in special education. They just needed extra help in certain subjects. They picked up on the material much more quickly than I had thought they would and were able to do more on their own than I had originally thought.

Before this class and project, I also did not think about the fact that students with special needs often stay in the general education classroom as well as working in the special education. The proper use and manipulation of the English language, a skill so difficult to learn, reaps a great deal of power when mastered. As hyperbolic as it sounds, being able to use and manipulate the English language properly into our writing and speaking can be very influential in advocating ideas towards a community.

To gain authority over an audience, one must write and speak with confidence and be skilled enough to use proper English: that is, following the standard rules of grammar, incorporating complex sentences and a wide range of vocabulary. In addition, the manipulation of the English language in writing and speaking, with as the use of figurative language and compositional techniques, makes the writing more persuasive and impactful.

Middle school often shows an increase teacher control and a curtailment of student freedom, as compared to elementary school. Finally, students are too often removed from the social support of teachers and are expected to compete rather than cooperate with each other in reading.

To provide support for engaged reading,. Nowadays, communication becomes more important because people live in the world of communication. According to Oxford Dictionary of Current English Moore, , communication can be defined as the activity or process of expressing ideas and feeling or giving out the information to others. Communication comes between the individuals and the groups, between thoughts and feelings and it also involve the feedback process.

So, in order to reach the good communication , listening and speaking is an important part and it needs more knowledge. Interaction is the path to effectiveness. A student oral communicator can keep the audience engaged by asking questions and soliciting opinions on the subject matter at hand. This would also help in fine tuning the message and style of presentation, based on the feedback received from the audience.

The tone of voice of the presenter carries a lot of weight in delivery of the message. A confident tone keeps the audience engaged, whereas a low and monotonous tone can be off-putting.

Voice modulation can also be employed to highlight the key points in the presentation and retain the attention of the audience. Body language is an important component of effective oral communication. The student should adopt a stable and confident posture, make appropriate gestures, avoid being fidgety and establish eye contact during the presentation.

Oral communication is not merely the ability to speak, but also the capacity to listen. A good communicator is one who is attuned to the audience and is able to calibrate his message accordingly. An aspiring oral communicator should be willing to acquire and hone his listening skills over a period of time. Oral communication is an art that can be learnt and polished through reading, presentation skills and practice. An oral communicator should have intellectual curiosity.

Reading is a means to the development of good communication skills. A well-educated mind would be able to communicate better as content is the soul of the communication process. He should also possess an attitude of discussion and deliberation as this would improve intellectual capabilities and thereby contribute to effective communication. Effective writing skills and good verbal communication skills go hand-in-hand although they may appear antithetical to a newbie. A student with good writing skills would alone be in a position to organize and present his thoughts in a structured manner; an exposure to the nitty-gritty of essay writing would be immensely beneficial in that regard.

The first impression is the best impression and many students fail this test due to a various impediments such as stage fright, lack of self-confidence and performance anxiety.
