This change was mainly made to allow the introduction of wearables to customise your pet with different clothes and accessories. The new artwork changed the basic body shape of each species so that each color variation of the species could wear the same clothing, but this made that Neopets who had clear variations due their color, like Darigan, Desert, Faerie, etc suffer a very drastic change on their design.

Because of this, many of the pets that were already created and had this colors, were given the option to remain with the old art style but with the bad part of not being able to wear clothes. Yes, any changes in color or species to an Unconverted pet will automatically make it a converted pet. I have 4 UCs and some are very coveted.

I think everyone should just have the option of having the old art. Unconverted, pets that didn't undergo an update from years back where every neopet looked the same in terms of position, expression etc.

Just look up unconverted neopets. UC means UnConverted. Imo people saying, "I worked hard so everyone has to" is the boomer equivalent of, "I worked hard to be in middle class now you have to too. So, while TNT didnt acknowledge the value system the NCC had set in place, they decided that some items were becoming WAY too unobtainable and it started the entire re-release trend. People started freaking out and not wanting to trade because what if the value dropped suddenly?

It goes that way sometimes but it goes the other way too. I used to restock kougra classics when they cost np and I sold the last few i had left years later for quite a bit.. I don't really get why they only release NC items for a limited time. Yes, people will have to pay for a lot of GBC to get what they want by trading, but is it really that better in a marketing point of view?

For example, I hate this idea of trading, of not knowing how much the item I want really costs. Also, I think it would be too time consuming. So I don't bother. I just buy faerie quest cookies. I would be much more willing to pay for NC if they had more options at the mall.

They could make some of them more expensive than others after some weeks And I mean, even some limited items are ok, but not that huge amount we have. I also think it would make the NC mall look better for new players who know nothing about trading. The site's security is a joke, so until they do something about that, the those websites will still exist to some degree.
