Lily, who was never one for it, works through the racism that she grew up with all her childhood. As she realizes how good they are, she grows to know them very well, and love them. I really enjoyed the book. I like learning about Lily, and the way her feeling towards her mother change through her book, as well as her thoughts on T-ray and what he claims happened.
I like the way that she adapts to life, and gets through the racism that she was taught her whole life. Lily learns the opposite of what she was taught growing up. Secrets come alive, and things take a turning point.
